| Southern California Orchid Collection for Sale Yesterday I visited a lady in Santa Ana, CA who is looking to sell her orchid collection. She's had her collection of orchids for over 10 years and does not know how to divide orchids so most of her collection consists of specimen orchids. Off the top of my head here's what I noticed... Brassavola nodosa (2) Dendrobium aggregatum (2) Dendrobium loddigesii (2) Dendrobium nobile (1) Dendrobium speciosum (2) Dendrobium wassellii (1) Expensive SBOE Laelia, Cattleya and Brassavola hybrids (7) Laelia anceps hybrids (3) Laelia purpurata hybrids (2) Myrmecophila (1) Neofinetia falcata (1) Oncidium types (3) Vanda (4) She's selling her collection because she's working full time know and doesn't have time to give her collection the attention she feels they deserve. I'd say she's looking to sell the orchids for around a quarter to half of their value and would only sell to experienced orchid growers. If you're in the area (or will be) and are interested in going half on any of the above orchids let me know. |
