Anyone Close to me want to buy my Vanda?

Hello!

I have decided to sell my vandas (4 of them). They are just not going ot get enough sun as I thought they might... in the Winter time anyway. Going to stick to Phals. I am in Wisconsin. They are blooming sized. Thanks! Tara

Lol ellen, I got my Vanda from Florida. I dont have any pics they have never bloomed in my care I have only had them for about 6 months if that. I could probably muster up pics of what they will look like if they do bloon , big blossoms I know but they are on teh smallinsg of the blooming side. I dont think I would ship them as you can get the same size from FLorida probably cheaper )) Tara

That is funny, Tarad. I hope you are able to get some blooms. Humidity, humidity, humidity mixed with sunshine. I hate to think you spent that money and can't get the ultimate enjoyment.

Yes It is a shame alright. I figured the one window that had any hope would be enough but it is not going to be humid enough or sunny enough. It gets way too cold in my old house. SO no matter how much sun not going to be able to protect them I fear. My sunniest room needs the windows redone and I am afraid that the cold will lill them ARGH. I dont have the funds to do the windows so figured better sell them now. I did not pay a lot for them really but they are potted up and established and i dont want to disturb them. If no one wants to buy them here I may take them to a local Greehose and see if they awill take them or house them for the winter. A lady there helped me with them when I got them. Tara

You put the litte basket over the top, or slightly in the vase, using some wire to hold it in place.

The roots grow down in the vase where you can give better humidity. Water by pouring water in around the roots, then tip the vase on its side and pour the water out.

You can stick the vase in a nice sunny spot on a warm window and give it the humidity it needs.
