Wanted: Cattleya Maxima (lowland)

Hey folks does anyone know of where I can obtain a lowland variety (grows naturally more coastal with smaller bulbs and generally darker flower) Cattleya Maxima. I have seen offerings online but they are all wholesale lots straight from Peru. Can anyone help me out?

Here is one I got from the Santa Barbara Orchid Estates 2 or three years ago. Well, 11-04 and 11-05. This is probably the first one.

Its about as dark as the original one I got a little earlier as a mature plant from someone at the San Diego Orchid Show.

Are these considered the lowland variety? Actually, I've been looking for a seedling of the lighter variety.

Cynthia those are beautiful! I have two Maxima and their pseudobulbs are much taller and more slender. Their flowers are lighter. While I really enjoy them I would like to add the smaller darker variety to my collection.

I will check Santa Barbara... Thanks so much!

Maybe you and I need to arrange a swap sometime in the next year or two.
