| I believe the shipping of orchid seeds across international borders is controled by the CITES convention, and may require CITES and other documentation. It is absolutely CRUCIAL that this be investigated before any seed is shipped as the penalties can include substantial fines and jail time.

| Hi everyone, All orchids are classified under appendix II. In the United States, the members of Paphiopedilum, Selenipedium, Phragmipedium, and Mexipedium, as well as a handful of single species are placed under appendix I. Seeds of appendix I material may not be sent between countries without permits, but it may be freely sent to other individuals within the same country. Norm |

| dionysus and lok, Please forgive me if this sounds too blunt but I don't want anyone getting into any trouble. Dionysus, I see you are in the US an lok, in Buenos Aires. If the 2 of you are to trade seeds, (ship them internationally) you must have CITES permits and you my need other documentation as well. Trading seeds, in fact any movement of orchid plants, seeds, or plant material across international borders is strictly controlled by international treaties and fedral law and carries stiff penalties including enormous fines and jail time. Please educate yourselves on what approvals/permissions are necessary to trade orchid seeds. Sending orchid seeds through the mail is not like sending marigold seeds or ordering tulip bulbs. The laws are very strict where orchids are concerned.
