They are both doing so well! You are lucky to have gotten the twins.

Wow! Frick & Frack have come a long way and appear to be doing nicely.

I'm curious about something: When this type of orchid is this small, does one still treat them like an adult? Will they loose their leaves and sit as a leafless stump even though they are this small? And do you with hold water when they are this small and leafless just as you would a mature plant?

I've never grown these as small plants and I'm curious.

Kevin, I let the plant tell me what it wants to do. I do have some Ctsms that do not go dormant. Mostly the ones with expansum dominant in the parentage.

As for your question, sometimes the seedlings will not go dormant, sometimes they will. Frick and Frack look like they are getting to the size where they will probably go dormant. But, (trying to go from memory here) I think they were pretty late starting in the season, so it should be a while still.

And yes, if they go leafless, you should definitely dry them out. - Although, it's somewhat like the Dens that like dry winters. Every once in a while, I do give them a quick watering. Especially if you see the p'bulbs shriveling a lot.

Hi Kevin! Renee said it well! I have only grown Cycnoches cooperi 'SVO lll' FCC/AOS x Cycnoches Jean E. Monnier '#2' for one growing season. I now have that one, Frick and Frack, and Ctsm. Jumbo Prime 'Elk Grove', as chids that I have growing this way. Jay started these little darlings from flask, and has sent several on their way to us geeks. I know that he treated his flasklings as adults, so I will do the same for these guys. We'll see what happens together, right?

They look great Patti! I can't believe how big they are. Do you have a ruler or something to give me an idea of the size?

I'll try to post this weekend- I'm working an extra job now, so I'm pretty pooped. I'll post a "ruler" pic this weekend.
