Arrival Photos

Hi everyone,

I received my order on April 11.

Phal. Naples Night
Den. Oriental Smile 'Fantasy'
Den. Yellow Song 'Canary'
Tol. Mystique Strawberry 'Daiquiri'. There are 2 different plants in the pot with 3 spikes.
And some worm tea. I've never used worm tea before and can't wait to use it.

I repotted them on April 13. Will take some pics and post them later.

Here are the arrival photos:

kktbva,

May I correct you on the name of one of your plants, Tol. Mystique Strawberry 'Daiquiri'?

The correct name is Rodrumnia Mystique 'Strawberry Daiquiri'.

kktvba: Looks like we have the same taste in orchids. I already had an Oriental Smiles, but ordered the others, same choices as yours. The little Rodrumnia is so adorable. Are you going to leave yours in the current potting media? I can't figure out if it's charcoal or lava rock.

Sharyn, it's charcoal. When I repotted into the 4" basket I removed some of the medium and left what I couldn't. I mixed the removed chucks into the spagh and placed all of it into the basket.

Kevin: thanks for the correction. I was just so excited with the flowers and did pay attention to the tags that much.

Sharyn: it looked like charcoal to me. I separated the two plants and repotted them in mix of sphag and charcoal. The Daiquiri lost all flowers a couple days after arrival. Flowers from the other plant (that came in the same pot) are blooming beautifully.

Your first photo of the Rdcm is a good example of secondary flowering. The shorter spike had flowers earlier which were cut just below the dying flowers. The spike then branched from another node and set more flowers.

It is fun to watch the action.

I thought she had the same two as me:

Rdcm. Blushing Angel x Rdcm. Mystique 'Strawberry Daiquiri'
Rdcm. Blushing Angel x Rrm. Mystique

Here is the pic of the one cross with the Rodrumnia in it....
