| Yay birthday orchids!!
My family has finally decided to "feed the monster", as they like to joke. That monster being my love for orchids.  I got 5!   Listed clockwise in group photo: Onc. Sweet Sugar (in bloom), C. Bactia 'Grapewax' (has new growth), Phal. Ho's Exotic Twist 'Pine Ridge', and Phal. Happy King 'Pine Ridge'. The solo photo is of Darwinara Charm 'Blue Star'. (It has a bud but I don't think it's going to make it.) Please feel free to share any growing tips for any of these 'chids.

nice gifts! Happy birthday  I have the sweet sugar. It likes being moist, tightly potted and in a fine potting medium. Mine was a small plant with 2 growths and it grew 2 new this summer. Unfortunately the 2 new growths was one coming of the other so only one of them could stay plum. So far no spikes but i am confident i will get some soon. |

Thanks guys!!! I had a great birthday.  I'm really excited about my orchids largely because they were on my list. The two phals are the splash petal type I inquired about a couple of months ago. Also the Darwinara is the only one of its kind in my collection. I don't have any blue blooms, so I can't wait to see it bloom. Hopefully I have the right culture for it.
