I don't know what's causing the narrow leaves, but fertilizing with 30-10-10 will only get you lots of leaves and no bloom. The nitrogen is too high. You need a fertilizer with a lower first number and a higher middle number. This type of fertilizer is often called a bloom booster. The high nitrogen fertilizers are used when the plant is out of it's flowering season and growth is desired. Then switching to the blossom boosters will encourage bloom.
