Question leaf yellowing on Xmas orchid; help!

My daughter got me a little orchid for Christmas. When it was purchased, it had three leaves and a spike about 1 foot long with three blooms. In just a few days, the blooms fell off. I should mention that the orchid spent a brief time at grandma's (a notorious over-waterer). It is getting great indirect light, and since I feared that grandma had overwatered, I left it alone for several days. Then the bottom leaf got a yellow streak down the middle. I took the plant out of its pot and loosened the peat moss around the roots; it was barely damp. So I gave it a little drink and the leaves perked right up. But now the bottom-most leaf is looking even yellower and appears to be getting wrinkly. Also, the spike has a new bud at the very tip so I don't want to cut it off. Is this plant just done for this season and the bottom leaf is going to fall off? Should I repot it in bark? Anyone?
