Good link to check out by JoBeth. It should help you determine the degree to which it is rotted and possibly how to handle it.
If you can save it, like JoBeth said about one of hers that she saved from crown rot, it might not do anything for a while. In fact, it might take a very long time before it can fully recover and start to bloom again.
Just try what you consider is best and if it can be saved.. try not to get frustrated if nothing happens for some time. Because if its still alive.....than you really never know what it might do!
