Hi Mantorp, I have some good news for you and your plant. Last summer I put some phals out on our front porch for the summer. Because it is a covered porch I didn't think there was much of a chance of too much sun, so I watered them before I left for work. Then the sun hit them (for only a few hours) and the water magnified the intensity of the rays.

You know the result

Now on to the good news.

When an orchid is severely stressed (like ours) it will sometimes through a keiki in a last ditch attempt to save itself. So a year after the sunburn incident I still have a scorched and not-too-pretty leaf, but I also have a basal keiki growing with four new leaves and a couple of roots that are only 1/2 inch long, but growing like weeds.

Dens are famous for throwing keikis so just sit and wait (and grin because you just might have a new orchid baby). Good growing and good luck
