I do not think that t does much for the plant. The flower is already set and the fertilizer will not get into the plant before the bloom fades. It is usually sold to induce blooming but I have never believed that it does and good.

Stay with a balance 13-13-13 or 20-20-20 fertilizer at 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon per gallon. The lack of nitrogen will retard the growth of the plant if you keep using it too much.
