I have a friend that is in the landscape nursery business and I mistook one in front of her home for a hedge. The orchid was 8 feet wide and 4 feet tall with over 4000 flowers. It had been growing outside in SW Flordia for over 14 years. They just add cinder blocks to the sides as it grows wider.
