One thing I've noticed with Dendrobiums...when it's their time to grow, nothing will stop them. They say the best time to repot is when their roots are growing and that's to allow the plant to adhere these new roots to the mix, for one. The only time I ever noticed the growth delayed is when I did a repot on one that had just gotten done blooming, the flowers were already spent and this particular Dend. took a little longer before the roots and new cane began to show but it all caught up. Now is growing season for most Dends.
Don't get too concerned if, after this growth, nothing appears to be happening for a while. They don't have to show signs of more growth to remain active, they need to rest as well.
