My opinion as a member: I enjoy the variety I find by just going to the "70 most recent threads". I love my phals, but want to read about dens and catts,too.
If I want to research a specific genera or particular topic, I can find the information I need by doing a forum search. I don't see that classifying information by species or alliance would be an improvement.
