| You will probably find that they are tougher than you think. Have you tried leaving it in direct sunlight for a majority of the day. Mine flowered best (7sprays) when the tree it was on was cut to just above it early in summer. It suffered the full sun for most of the day and lived no worries. Prior to that I had one potted up and left it in the full sun all day and it still lived. At that stage I was still trying to get a flower out of it. Our summers get up to the early 40 degrees here.
I use the schomburgkia as a test case as I am yet to kill one with any kind of abuse I give it.
I will say they only flower once a year also which can be painful. But the flower is quite aromatic.
