I am charmed by the small sized flowers and the compact plants of many of these species. I have a mannii (boxallii), and a mannii v. flava which I have not seen bloom yet. I am not much into bars and spots unless they are particularly attractive (personal, I know), so I may decide to put the mannii on the silent auction for what I paid for it. I have bought all the varieties of equestris that Baldan has. I am especially happy with these. Also picked up an (equestris x venosa) 'Copper State' HCC/AOS from a local hybridizer of Phals. It is a compact plant, but a bit bigger than equestris. I just got an established blooming keiki of Brother Sandra 'Splash' HCC/AOS, and the flowers are more beautiful than the pictures. Not a primary I am sure, but it has small flowers, a multibrancher, and it looks like it will be a compact plant.
