Hello!
A few months ago, I encountered a weird "thing" in the mix of my cattleya. I didn't think to ask about it until now, so I have since gotten rid of it, but was curious if anyone has heard of it and could tell me what exactly it was. The best way I can describe it is, it was like long silvery wires/hairs with a black colored tip coming out of the bark. I pulled them out of the mix, and they have not come back. I assumed it was a fungus like thing because it came out of the bark, and I thought fungi needed light to thrive. But it was very bizarre and I hoped someone else here could ID it for me.
