| You shouldnt remove the leaf unless the black spot starts spreading. Even if it was spreading, I personally would wait to see if the orchid could contain the infection itself before chopping anything. I wouldnt remove any part of the leaf, even the black part, because if the orchid has the infection contained and you disturb it, it could spread. If the orchid has successfully defeated the pathogen, the spot will dry up, and you should leave the leaf alone..
