| root rot??? and Bllra. question Hi,
I have a currently blooming phal. which is two in one pot. Oneof the plants has stopped blooming and the other currently has two blooms open. All of the greens look healthy, but when i look into the pot i see that some of the roots which are above the media look like they are dark and all dried up. Is this a sign of root rot? There seem to be several healthy roots poking out of the crown and one or two new ones forming. The plant seems to be tilting, half the grown is in the media, the other half is not. It also seems pretty loose. Is it safe to repot phals when they are in bloom? Also, are there any special instructions for repotting phals? What do i do about the gangly roots which have grown out and seem to be growing in all different directions?
Lastly, does anyone know what the growth cycle of oncidium alliance, specifically Bllra. is? When do they form new growth? I have a spike on mine that looks to have about two blooms but is still far off from blooming, but it doesnt have any new leaf growth.
thanks,
