Thanks for your help- you could be spot-on, as the charcoal looks really well-weathered... The weather here in Singapore is pretty humid/warm, so the reasoning that it gets paler due to temperature could apply too...

Wo, glad to know there're fellow S'poreans here too... thanks for giving my plant the ID...since this Dendrobrium mini is supposedly easier to grow- I'd better get it well taken care of before i get nagged at by my husband

The orchids are looking really pretty now
and hope I can get them to rebloom when this flowering season is over! Not much confidence though, cuz i killed a Phal before and need to be really careful this time...
