I am pleased that you found us we have a great caring bunch of members here full of knowledge about orchids.

my advice to you with the roots would be if they are slightly damages they will heal
if you have alot of roots coming out of the bottom of the pot I would cut the pot away from the roots being careful not to damage them any further and put the plant back into another pot either a slightly deeper pot or may be the next size pot up.
with going to the next size pot up that depends on the amount of growth you have maybe if we could see a picture that would help us even more.

also it would be good for all our orchid geeks if you could go to your UserCP and update your Profile with your Location as we have members from all over the world with different growing conditions that will help us to understand your growing conditions
