potting a trichoglottis

I bought my trichoglottis mounted and found I couldn't keep up with its moisture demands. Also with the odd way it was mounted, it was starting to rip itself off its mount, so I decided to put it into a wooden basket. I went to a local orchid nursery and they instructed me on what I needed to repot the orchid.

The orchid is now in a wooden basket lined with coconut husk with a mix of fir bark and NZ sphagum around the base. I'm a bit nervous about its roots surrounded by so much moss and the possibility of the roots rotting. I'm planning on soaking the basket once a week as it takes about a full week to dry out with daily misting

Any second opinions? Thanks!
