| Do vandas rot? Hello, I got a vanda a couple of weeks ago, and it looks like she's adapting well to my house. I've got it in a room where there's plenty of light (but not much direct sunlight) and it's very warm. I mist it twice a day with a special "gadget" and I try to keep humidity high.
I have a question, though. I spray it with water every day, and I spray the roots, the plant itself (leaves) and a bit the flowers. The problem is, I have seen that when i mist the leaves, the water runs to the centre of the plant, where all the leaves join and it stagnates a bit there. I fear it might rot because of the water remaining there. I was told that the same happens with phalaenopsis, if water stagnates in the centre of the leaves and it stays there for too long the leaves start to rot, moreover, I've seen it with my own eyes in a friend's house and it's true (for phalaenopsis).
I would like to know if it's ok with vandas or if, otherwise, she'll rot as well. Does anyone know anything about this?
Thanks a million! |
