My Palm Tree Mounts

I have combined my two favorite things orchids and palm trees. I was at the beach a few weeks ago and stumbled across an old sabel palm that had been blown over. I noticed a couple nice slabs and brought them home. I soaked them in big trash cans full of fresh water for a couple days changing the water each day to wash off salt deposits from the beach and to drowned out any bugs that may have been living in them. Then I left them in the sun to dry for a few days and began my first project. This is a C. Haleahi Serenity. I placed spaghnum moss around the roots and used the green mesh bag the plant came in to attach it to the inside of the piece of palm.It has been 2 weeks now and it seems very happy with lots of new root growth and a new shoot. So I have made 3 others now 1 with a little Dendrobium Haleahi Cranberries 'Apple' X J. Thomas 'Maverrick', then an noid little Dendrobium, and a long mount that I found over on my property that has 2 Encyclia's that I am trying to grow on the outside of the trunk.
