How do I care for this orchid?? I was overtaken by its beauty at the nursery and had to have it as it was on a clearance rack for who knows why, it looks in relatively good condition. It is potted in medium, what looks like charcoal of sorts and is about 5" tall. How big does this variety get? What kind of light does it need? I dont have a real bright windowsill for it, should I consider artificial lighting?
Also, one unrelated question, what does a new spike grow on a dendrobium appear as? Similar to that of a phalaenopsis?
