| Sandra, I wouldn't worry too much. My parents have their Ascda. and other Vanda. mounted under big coconut trees. They get light through the leaves but mostly shaded. Guess what ...they are blooming.
I mounted them with lots of spag. or tied their baskets to the tree trunk and threw some spag in there. The reason for the spag is that the wind, heat and other factors dry them out FAST.
