You have the correct name and it is an Oncidium. There is a very great range in Oncidium plants. Many have been moved to other named genuses, like the Pyscopsis Oncidiums, and I just checked and lanceanum has been moved to Lophiaris. However, I am sure that the registration of the hybrid you have will retain the Oncidium status, just cause it would cause too much trouble to try to correct all the previous hybrids made.

Look up the culture for Oncidium lanceanum, and you can probably grow you plant by that formula. You plant does have bulbs, but they are very small and insignificant. Your plant will not grow like a Phalaenopsis, as your plant is a sympodial, not a monopodial, and you can expect a new growth from the base of the plant each year, just like other sympodials.
