I am from Jerusalem and I am fairly new to the Orchid addiction (one year). Last year, I bought an Orchid that started my obsession. Currently, I have, 4phals, one mini Cymbidium and one mini Oncidium (in my house).
The good news is that my Phal from Last year has already started a spike which is around 6 inches now.
I also use a humidifier. Although in the winter there is good humidity, we have periods of very dry desert winds in the summer where the humidfier is much needed.
So, it is great to be part of this group and hope I will learn and share knowledge.
Oh, I forgot to mention that I have one Orphys and one Orchis which remain outside (terrestrial). Those need a dry period in the summer where they dry out and will start new growths in the winter.
