Getting Serious

Hey all...Jesse M. here from Gettysburg PA. I started with my first orchid about 3 years ago. I was just captivated by a phaleanopsis that I saw at Walmart. I bought it despite what I thought I knew about how difficult orchids could be to grow. I thought, even if I kill it, the 13 bucks was totally worth the beautiful flower that lasted for weeks. So 3 years and 12 more orchids later here I am. I had pretty much decided that over time, I could only deal with phals. But as I'm sure many of you can understand I got bored there and had to expand the collection. Early on I didn't pay much mind to what the species and hybrids were called...so many of mine are somewhat "mystery" orchids. I know the type, but not the name. But among my many phals. are 2 catteleya type, an oncidium, and a few masdevalias. I'm getting pretty serious now. My mom and I are building terrariums for some of our plants. My goal is to eventually have at least one or two of mine in bloom at some point all year long. Never to be without a bloom. Mom turned me onto this site.
