Just got back from picking up around 25 orchids from a small town near Victorville, CA. The lady received several hundred orchids from her uncle who was selling his orchid nursery. She has them packed into her small greenhouse but turned off the heater because of the cost. The collection is mainly of Phaleonopsis Dendrobiums but there are a few Oncidium types thrown in. Most of them are dead or dying because it's FREEZING there but if you live relatively near the area and would like to rescue a bunch of orchids for really cheap you might want to check them out.
The ones I bought were only $2 each but she would probably sell the rest for $1 or less each. I'd say there are around 50 to 70 orchids that are salvageable but she also has a large boxes worth of blooming Dendrobiums that she kept inside the house that she's selling for a little more.
