Anton.... it's a little confusing really... there are two very similar orchids that look like that... one's Phal. bellina and the other is Phal. violacea. To add to the confusion, Phal. bellina is also known as Phal. violacea var. Borneo. Darn these taxonomists!!! I think they are actually the same species, just a difference variant. They are both found throughout Southeast Asia...

I don't know the difference and they are often mislabelled by plant sellers... Only the trusted orchid nurseries will have it correct. The one in my avatar is Phal. violacea...

Each mature plant can cost abt AUD18 to AUD40 depending on the size and parentage I believe.

I have not seen flasked seedlings of this species. I buy from Song Orchids on the western half of Singapore. I'm going down on Saturday. Perhaps I can find out for you.
