Hi, I thought multifloral did mean branching spikes, at least on mature plants. There are
miniatures with smaller flowers with spikes that do not branch, but apparently there is not a clear definition. I could be wrong about my original assumption, though other sources come to the same conclusion. Here are a couple links with more information:
