I recently purchased an outdoors, overgrown, unknown, epiphytic specimen orchid and plan on dividing it. Unidentified orchids are just like presents that unwrap themselves when they bloom. Personally though, I prefer seeing the roots clinging to branches and would be happy even if the orchid didn't bloom... when they do have nice blooms its an added bonus.
