| I am afraid you are thinking too deeply into the retention and dissipation of heat. I think you scientific assumption is right but the surface area of the pots are quite small to have any discernible effect on the temperature gradient (in 24 hours) because of the colour.
But no harm in trying as long as you don't have to shell out more $$ for the pots.
