| As long as the front of the plant is growing well and there is no brow or black squishiness in those old back bulbs or the rhizome beneath them, no worries. Eventually, the plant consumes the energy stored in backbulbs and they wither and dry up. Again, as long as the plant is growing new leads and roots at the front, you can stand to lose those old bulbs.
