I think I have seen some response to giving them a longer dry period between waterings. Maybe 5 days to a week dry and then water. I note that I have put a number into a separate part of my greenhouse to keep away from my every other day watering because they have stopped growing, and shortly there after, I have to bring them back because they are putting out spikes. Don't know if this is cause and effect or just coincidence. Good luck.
