I just finished a discussion of boiling pots for sterilization (plastic in my case that take boiling well) on the Orchid Guide Digest email forum. There are some very knowledgeable people there, much more professional than I. The consensus was that boiling is not good enough. Not good enough for orchid virus and not good enough for fusarium spores, my particular concern. Type of water will not make a difference.
