| One's instinct is always to look for a single cause (Occam's razor?), but I wonder whether you have two things going on: sunburn on the leaf and a persisting mealybug infestation. I have found that once a plant is infested, alcohol swabs, etc., may be totaly ineffective in killing the mealybugs. That's when I've turned to high-concentration acephate, with good results.
