| I think copper sulphate (CuSO4) can control snails. I have used it to control snails in aquariums.
It is relatively harmless to humans, especially at the dosage used to control snails. (extra care has to be taken if there are children in the house)
There are garden products containing CuSO4. It may be a good idea to use gloves. If not hands should be washed thoroughly since it can cause liver and kidney damage.
Its effect on snails does not seem to occur in humans nor in any other mammalian species.
Good luck.
