Does this need splitting?

Hi everyone! I'm new to the world of orchid keeping but a long-time plant lover. I was recently given a Dendrobium as a house warming gift and it sparked my interest in getting more involved in orchid growing.
I was reading an article about Dendrobium care and it mentioned cutting and repotting and baby/keiki sprouts from the plant.

Are these what the article was talking about? The light green growth? Or can anyone advise what this plant needs at the moment? It seems a bit top heavy for the stem at soil level. Is this normal?

Its flowers are nearly gone, it lives on a window sill that is sunny in the morning. Watering with a mix of rainwater (when available) and boiled cooled tap water.

Thank you for any advice.
