| ohh, i'm slightly dissapointed, my vanda miss joaquim is just 4 ft tall (i read somewhere it was somewhat good height for starting to bloom!), i guess i'll just have to wait some more. You mentioned something about coconut fiber. I have my vanda MJ planted in ground coconut fiber and it's been doing quite well (i've had it for almost two years now), I've been considering changing it to soil, but since it haven't shown any problem, I still don't find any real reason for the change. Do you think it will grow faster or stronger if planted in soil? I'll appreciate it very much if you could give me some guidance. It is one of my favorite flowers and i would definetely love to see it bloom as soon as possible.
The same as you Digitalgate, i have my vanda MJ and my arundina graminifolia out in full sun, as well as my brassavolas nodosas and a couple of catasetums. A couple of months ago i got a mini den, a cross between sriracha and sri siam, and its growing like crazy, it is taking a lot of sun but not the full afternoon sun.
I'm in the tropics too, with humidity from the 80's to 95' around this time of the year. But the drier it gets is to the 40's during the dry season from late dec to april. I got all my plants outside with different levels of light and shade.
thanks for any advice
