No, it is not neccesarily the same as 'any brand'. Sodium lauryl sulphate, the main ingredient in 'invigorator' is known to dehydrate and kill many bugs, fleas, ticks, bed bugs and plant pests. It will also dissolve the oils on your skin.

Yes it is contained in many household products from toothpaste to washing up liquid. But that does not mean your washing up liquid contains it. It may instead contain the far weaker sodium laureth sulphate or some other anionic surfactant, which may or may not have much effect on pests.

Its not a magic product, simply a well known pest control chemical branded and marketed as such.
