I think your plant is definitely a nobile dendrobium even though it may not be a Yamomoto hybrid. In the picture of the plant in pot you can see the dried up flower stems along the nodes of the older cane which is a common characteristic of the nobile. The sample said the plant was temperate tolerant indicating that it might be the new breeding of nobiles that will bloom without the winter chilling down.
