Horizontal spike on Phal.

This orchid was separated at the time of repotting last month since it was potted with another (two in a pot). The label was Phal. Wedding Promenade and I bought a bunch of them at $5 each.

This one started to grow a new leaf and then a spike. I did not pay much attention to it since there were many Phals spiking at the same time. Today I noticed this spike has grown almost parallel to the ground.I tried to straighten it out but the spike is stiff and I am afraid that it might snap at the bend.

Any harm in leaving it as it is? Also any simple and practical way of straigtening the spike? I could try a sling and a pulley to straighten it but by the time it becomes straight the flowers would be dead and gone, I think.

Thanks.
