Probably the most home remedy against that silvery bugs or the "mealy bugs" is to swab and daub plants with cotton-tipped swab or ball cotton dipped in isopropyl (alcohol). Do not use such as ethanol and methanol it can damage the plant tissue. There are also tips i'd know from my friend, she tell me about mealy bugs and what she spray for it, and actually you will not believe it first. She boiled a piece of garlic into about 1 liter of water and let it cool and she spray it to her plants. And from the next days those mealy bugs are gone, imagine? Now we know that garlic is great in keeping away from insect pest
