Well, personally, I'd just let it consume the raft. As long as the mount itself is not rotting, why bother it? If the plant isn't growing all around it, you could just secure the raft to a new, bigger raft, too.
Personally, though, I wouldn't worry about it. Just let the plant wrap itself all around the raft.
