Actually I misspoke in my earlier post. Arleneg is correct that the orchids we call "black" are usually dark marroon/brown. There are no truly black pigmentations in orchids so even the black in Coelogyne pandurata which looks black to our eye is actually a dense concentration of multiple pigments.

There are a few Maxillarias that have "black" flowers, one is the dark form of Max variabilis. There are some super dark Paph hybrids too like Paph Larry Bird.
