I usually snip mine off at this stage. I have had success with short roots like these, and even shorter from Den kingianums.
It is not necessary to let them grow long before snipping off. You can either plant it with you present plant or in a seperate small pot by itself.
Mark it with the name of the plant followed by "keiki" and the date you potted it and this will help for future reference if you need to snip more off.
But as Snowballsarebad said, you can leave them on the plant too for effect, and I have done that too on some plants. The decision is yours.
