I have been leaving my orchids outside for the past couple of months and the results are amazing. New growth appears as fast as chickens! But this morning, I've discovered something that made me want snap a chicken neck! Something has eaten some of the tips of the new roots growth.

I suspect it might be slugs, because I have recently found slugs early in the morning crawling in some pots. I've attached some pictures of the damage. Does anyone know what is causing the problem and how I might remedy this?
